Timothy “Tim” M. Duerr
Born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Tim proudly served in the U.S. Navy and is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After graduating from the Naval School of Health Sciences, he continued his education at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC, and the College of Charleston. Tim then graduated from Oklahoma University’s Economic Development Institute.
He has been in research and business intelligence for more than fifteen years, having served both the Upstate Alliance and CentralSC Alliance in research capacities. However, it was his years of service to Alliance Pickens where he helped the rural community of Pickens tell its story with strong and reliable data, proving him to be an ideal Director of Research for the South Carolina Power Team. In this role, Tim assists SC Power Team in identifying targeted industries and providing business intelligence as it relates to recruitment.
Tim is a member of several associations, including the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association (SCEDA), Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
Today, Tim lives in Irmo, SC, with his wife, Cheryl, and two daughters, Megan and Savannah. He is a music connoisseur, always playing a varied selection from his Power Team office. His vocabulary is expansive and his sense of humor is equally robust.
